The main objective of this project is to identify and recommend specific interventions of SBFIC aiming at the support of rural finance development in Georgia.


In the process, PMC Research will undertake the following activities:

  • Analyze the current state strategies towards the development of the agricultural sector and rural SMEs in Georgia;
  • Analyze the state interventions and donor interventions in Georgia according and the extent to which these align with state strategies relating to the agricultural sector and rural SMEs in Georgia;
  • Map value chains prioritized by state strategies;
  • Analyze the existing gaps between the state strategies and the interventions of both the state and donor organizations; and
  • Elaborate recommendations on both capacity development strategy and the establishment of a coherent strategic intervention framework.
