Social Accountability

PMC Research Center aims to support countries in transition to increase the effectiveness of governmental services. We accomplish this with social accountability processes, which include the following tools:

Participatory policy making and planning, such as expert working group meetings, public policy discussion, and public private dialogue panels

Budget-related activities, such as budget revenue and expenditure analysis, participatory budget formulation, performance-based budgeting as well as education and awareness-raising for the improvement of budget literacy

  • Monitoring and evaluation of public services, such as public hearings and focus group meetings
  • Public oversight, such as the formation of and active participation in CSO oversight committees
