Project Description:

Objective
Improve budget transparency and accountability by strengthening civil society organizations’ capacity to promote reform and improve budget spending and, through increased collaboration between civil society and Georgian public institutions, improve public finance expenditure oversight.


Services
PMC Research completed the following tasks:

  • Organized a series of trainings on public policy-making and public expenditure management oversight. The trainings focused on the following topics: a framework for policy-making and budget decisions, steps toward budget preparation, and international best practices in public expenditure management
  • Published a small practical guide about monitoring spending and methods for Community Services Organizations to oversee public spending


Results
20 civil servants attended 6 different trainings and so advanced their skills in policy-making and budget decisions, as well as get acquainted with international best practices in public expenditure management.
