End Date: 2021-04-30
Region: Worldwide,
Country: Worldwide,
Client: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)
Origin of Funding: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)
Budget: 186,803 GEL

The goal of the project is to exchange experiences and innovative solutions quickly and efficiently across regions in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, so that cities in GIZ’s Connective Cities Network can better prepare for the effects of the pandemic and increase the efficiency of their responses to local outbreaks. To attain this goal, PMCG will conduct research and moderate virtual events within the international network of the GIZ-funded Connective Cities platform. The themes of research and virtual events will be health, business, and governance in relation to the pandemic response at municipal level.

Specifically, PMCG will undertake the following activities:

  • Elaboration of criteria to select municipalities on account of their good practices in health, business, and governance;
  • Research and identification of 10 good practices, solutions, or experiences in the project partner countries globally in the fields of health, business, and governance in terms of municipal pandemic response and/or within the regional networks of the Connective Cities;
  • Mobilization of relevant cities and their representatives in partner countries to participate in Connective Cities virtual events and to present their project ideas or good practices to a wider audience;
  • Moderation of at least five virtual events;
  • Supporting the digital preparation of events to be displayed on the Connective Cities website and social media, and processing good practices and/or capacity building in cooperation with the project team; and
  • Conduct reporting and final documentation of a complete series of a pandemic-related exchange of experiences.
